Love Story: How to Create an Anniversary Photobook

Gathering your photos

Start by raiding every source — your phone, their phone, shared albums, old texts with photos, even screenshots of memorable messages. Ask friends who were there for early photos. The treasure hunt itself is part of the fun. You'll rediscover moments you'd completely forgotten.

Structuring the story

Organise chronologically by year, with a title page for each year: "Year One — 2019" followed by the best 5–8 photos from that year and a short caption for context. By year five, you'll have a book that reads like a novel, with recurring themes, inside jokes, and a love story that grew richer with every page.

Making it a surprise gift

The most meaningful anniversary gift is one that shows you were paying attention. A photobook says: I remember. Order 2–3 weeks before your anniversary to allow for delivery. Hide it until the moment. When they open it, give them time to sit with it — don't rush the reading. Some books are meant to be savoured.
